Pinna Nobilis and Dusky Grouper
In this video, taken in the Mediterranean Sea, while I was trying to photograph a small freediving Grouper, I found a Pinna Nobilis. This is an unusual seabed for these mollusks, which usually thrive on muddy and sandy bottoms; as you can see here, the Pinna Nobilis seems to be emerging from the rock. Their ideal habitat in the area is likely compromised by nets and trawls that prevent their development, and this bivalve mollusk is likely also spreading to rocky and seagrass bottoms.
