The first dorsal fin, preceded by a short spike, is formed by five or six spines, fitted at the back with a small membrane, which can fold back and disappear in a dorsal groove. The second dorsal is long and low, but with a long lobe-shaped beginning and is similar and symmetrical to the anal. The anal is preceded by two isolated spines, which can fold back and disappear in a ventral groove. The codale is forked, with very long and narrow lobes. The pectoral ones are short and the ventral ones are even smaller.
