The Oysters..... “they are wonderful”!!!
The Oysters, “they are wonderful” (Ostrea), Ostreidae family, is a genus of bivalve molluscs from the rounded shell with scaly wavblades.
The two valves are unequal and the lower one, which isanchored to the animal, is larger and the sunken top. The clam has rounded body, with the margins of the two edges of the mantle fringed . They live in all the sea of Europe at shallow depths, clinging to rocks or other solid objects.
We filmed during a dive in the open sea at a depth of 20meters, the Oysters are clinging to a rocky area. Some oysters, mainly the Eastern seas species produce pearls.
Are greatly appreciated in Mediterranean cooking with quality sparkling wines. For this reason today are grown in special nurseries in open sea to better respond to market demand.
Oysters are a food rich in minerals, proteins and vitamins that help improve the immune system; they are also low in fat and their zinc content also seems to improve the sexual performance of men and women. From this derives the belief that they are aphrodisiac! Surely they are excellent!
